SEASON FINALE · VANILLA SOLO · JULY 2026

Two thousand seven hundred and eighty two hours, and one kill every eight and a half of them

The July season on Solo closes on Thursday 6 August at 2PM Eastern, and it closes the way it ran: quietly. Two hundred and seventy three residents passed through the island. Between them they logged 2,782 hours, which is a little under four months of continuous daylight compressed into thirty one days. In all that time the island recorded 322 kills and 322 deaths. That is one killing every eight hours and thirty eight minutes of occupied ground.

The number that explains Solo best is not the kill count. It is 127. That is how many of the 273 arrivals were gone again inside their first hour, which is very nearly half the island. Behind them, seven residents crossed a hundred hours and twenty two crossed twenty four. The mean stay was 10.2 hours, a figure held up almost entirely by a small standing population who treated the month as a place of work rather than a visit.

This is the first issue The BZ Chronicle has ever published, and it is being written after the fact from season totals. The event wire went live only at the end of this wipe, so there are no timestamps, no weather, no obituaries and no casino ledger for July. From next wipe the paper can tell the smaller stories: who set the alarm off at 03:14, who lost a helicopter to the ocean, who went all in on black. This month, only the arithmetic survives.

Uyb0 took nine per cent of the island's violence and paid twice

Of the 322 kills recorded on Solo in July, twenty nine belong to Uyb0, and the island collected only two deaths from him in return. That is a season K/D of 14.50, the highest on the server, and it means roughly one in every eleven bodies on the island was left there by the same person. ChiWild100Bang is second with twenty four, 7am third with fourteen from a single death, a 14.00 return. Between the top two names sits nearly a sixth of everything that happened at gunpoint this month.

Then there is Song, who finished with twelve kills and a deaths column reading zero. Nobody else on the island can show that. Whatever Song was doing for those twelve encounters, it did not once end with a respawn screen, and the wipe on Thursday will erase the streak rather than break it. The other end of the ledger is just as telling: thirteen residents put in ten hours or more and never killed anyone at all. On Solo that is not failure, it is a career choice.

Half the island never unpacked

Two hundred and seventy three names arrived in July. One hundred and twenty seven of them were finished inside sixty minutes, which is the single largest group on the server by a wide margin. Above that layer, twenty two residents got past a day and seven got past a hundred hours. The permanent population of Solo in July was, in practice, about two dozen people sharing a landmass with a very large volume of foot traffic.

The heaviest resident was ChiWild100Bang at 224 hours, ahead of patrick.asplund on 177, DonkeyWhisperer on 171, Gureta on 156 and wartix.cz on 153. Those five alone account for 881 hours, close to a third of the island's entire occupied time.

ChiWild100Bang finished top three in both columns that existed

Only two measures were kept on the vanilla servers this season, presence and violence, and one resident placed high in both. ChiWild100Bang logged 224 hours and 28 minutes on the island, the longest stay of the month, and finished second in kills with twenty four. Nobody else appears near the top of both lists. Uyb0 leads the kill board without appearing among the five most present, and patrick.asplund and DonkeyWhisperer put in 177 and 171 hours respectively without troubling the kill column at all.

The reckoning

A finale is normally where the paper is held to account for what it predicted in the wipeday issue. There was no wipeday issue. The BZ Chronicle did not exist in July, so it made no forecasts, and there is nothing on the record to grade. The season instead goes into the archive as the baseline everything after it will be measured against: 273 residents, 2,782 hours, 322 kills, one killing every eight hours and thirty eight minutes.

Solo was also the calmest of the three islands. Duo produced 216 kills across 1,072 hours, roughly one every five hours. Quad produced 175 across 753 hours, roughly one every four and a quarter. Solo ran at half the rate of either, with more than twice the population of Duo and three and a half times that of Quad.

The wire is live from Thursday. Expect timestamps, monument alarms, drownings and bad decisions at the slot machines in the next issue. If you do something memorable on the island after 2PM Eastern, the paper will now know what time you did it.

W2

Solo ran at one kill per 8h 38m in July while Quad ran at one per 4h 15m. Watch whether a fresh map narrows that gap, or whether the solo island simply goes quiet again once the seven hundred hour residents settle in.

W3

Three marks to beat: ChiWild100Bang's 224 hours, Uyb0's 29 kills, and Song's empty deaths column. The first two are difficult. The third has never been done twice.
